FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS/CARERS
OPEN EVENING on THURSDAY 21ST JANUARY at the ORBIS ENGERGY CENTRE
You are invited to attend an Open Evening on Thursday 21st January 2010 at the Orbis Energy Centre in Lowestoft for all Year 11 and their parents/carers. (The Orbis Energy Centre is on Wilde Street in Lowestoft – near to the Gulliver wind turbine, postcode NR32 1XH).
The Open Evening will provide an opportunity to discuss the complete range of options available to you after Yr 11. You will be able to discuss individual courses, training programmes and work-based learning opportunities with teaching staff, college lecturers and representatives from training providers in this locality.
As part of the evening we will be showcasing the latest plans for the new Lowestoft Sixth Form College. There will be a 3-dimensional flythrough of the building and an opportunity to meet the architects and the project manager. The Area Director for Children and Young People’s Services, Sally Simpkin will also be available to answer any of your questions and talk to you about the project.
Due to the restricted facilities and parking at the Orbis Energy Centre, it would help us enormously if you could attend at the suggested surname timeslot as below. Each session will last for a maximum of 1½ hours.
Surname A to K at 5.00pm and Surname L to Z at 7.00pm
The Lowestoft Sixth remains committed to the personal approach, providing high levels of support and guidance to all Year 11 to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. If you would like further details prior to the Open Evening or would like information posted to you, please contact your schools 6th Form Office.
Please use the Application Form which you may care to complete and return before the Open Evening, if you know which courses you are interested in. Application Forms will also be available at the Open Evening and from your schools 6th Form Office.
